Josh & Sami
We are wildlife filmmakers on a road-trip spanning the length of South America, making short films about our adventures as we go. We began our journey at the southern tip of Argentina and plan to drive to the northern edge of Colombia.
Adelaide / Sydney
When did you start your travels?:
Reason for taking this trip:
Apart from wanting to see and experience the beautiful countries of South America, this journey is also a working trip for us. We are filming fairly constantly as we travel, and editing / uploading episodes approximately once a week. If you would like to see our web-series "Migrate Adventure", here is the link to the YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClwIGDQmhB4r17-AClctvRA
Why did you decide to drive?:
Mainly for the freedom our vehicle allows us (being 4x4), particularly so that we can reach isolated places and find wildlife to film.
Are you also taking along pets?:
Are you also taking along children?:
What type of car are you driving?:
A modified Mitsubishi Delica L300
Did you make any modifications to your car for this trip?:
We ourselves haven't modified our car (Otis) yet, but some of his previous owners did an incredible build. For LOTS of details about the modifications they made, you can check out their website: www.dinoevo.de
How long do you plan on traveling?:
For around 7-8 months.
Where do you plan on driving? :
Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia.
What languages do you speak? Will you learn more on your trip?:
We both have some very basic Spanish but are looking forward to improving during this trip. And Josh speaks Russian - not super useful this time!
Do you have any advice for others who may be considering driving the Americas?:
Enjoy the moment / place that you are, instead of thinking of what comes next on your journey.
